Welcome to the first Trailer Corner!
In this new series of Special Features articles, I’ll simply watch a trailer that I find interesting and talk about how I feel about it and if it gives me a good impression to actually go see the film. The Terminator: Dark Fate trailer was just released this past week and lets get right into it.
The Terminator franchise will always have a special place for me. The first film was the first R-rated film I saw as a kid. My family had just gotten back from a trip from Disneyland and Universal Studios and my parents wanted to rent movies from all the attractions that we saw. One of them was the Terminator 3-D attraction at the time and I knew if I said we should rent a Terminator movie I would actually get to see it. Well my parents rented it and I got to see it.
Now let’s take a look at the teaser trailer for Terminator: Dark Fate, which is a direct sequel to Judgment Day because now Hollywood finds it cool to erase other films from franchises.
So what are my thoughts? Honestly I’m on the fence with this one. Part of me really wants to see it due to nostalgia reasons. The other part me asks why? Why do we need a new Terminator movie while Hollywood is desperate for lack of original ideas. I mean it was great seeing Linda Hamilton again but, it also feels like we’ve seen this film before. There is going to be an official trailer at some point so maybe we will get to see something else that might change my mind.
Terminator: Dark Fate is due for release on November 1, 2019.
